@angeloflove wow, thank you. I’m a lesbian girl from Germany. I’m out and proud and I’m lucky to have never really experienced hate or discrimination against me because of my sexuality. Still, even here in Germany where it’s actually totally cool for most people, there still IS discrimination, hate and homophobia.
YOU are the prove that standing up for a good cause actually can make a difference. Consider yourself a friend of the community. *hands you a rainbow colored cookie*
I’m starting to think that gay people have it easier in some european countries than in America, like in the netherlands and belgium. It’s been legale there for Years…
There is one HUGE argument they don’t even mention which is: married couples save immense amounts of money on taxes. It’s not fair for a gay couple who pays the same amount of taxes as everyone else to not be able to collect those tax discounts.
@80Perkele Maybe so, but I can honestly say that I am soo THANKFUL every day I wake up that I’m a gay man in CANADA …. same for when I briefly lived in Europe… that’s why I think the U.S is really bizzare.. you guys AREN’T a third-world nation yet you’re one of the VERY few who still haven’t figured it out… I’m not okay with the “well, it sucks, but hey it could be worse” argument – I don’t think that makes it okay..I get what you mean too btw.. just wanted to add my little bit
One year old comment, still the U.S is a really good place to be gay comparing to many many many other countries in the world….!Not to say that some countries still have death penalty for being gay.But I understand what you mean..thumbs up!
@ifu1seekamy I wish you all the best and am sending you mad hugs right now. I hope your mom does understand because no matter what you are her child and she loves you. haha I may not be your mom, but I am a mom so if just the support and understanding of a mom in general helps, you got it!

Kathy has a huge heart and I know even though she hates kids, she kinda secretly doesn’t. (:

I’m very proud to live in the Netherlands. We have legal gay marriage and it’s a normal, everyday thing! People who say it’s harmful are insane!
i wanted to cry when i saw the mom with the “proud mom” sign. what i wouldn’t give to have my mom feel the same way about my marriage to my husband.

I’m sick of idiots using their religion as an excuse for hate and prejudice. There is NO EXCUSE for being an ignorant, stupid, moronic idiot.
thanks mom with the sign
woops, I forgot to add the I to that last comment. sorry!
@bappleblap q is an encompassing letter. it means queer and intersex, as well as questioning

@bappleblap Oh sorry, you’re probably right, we don’t really use that abbreviation in Germany.
