by on August 30, 2010

Great clip on from Real Time w/ Bill Maher…..on gay marriage, gay rights, queer muslims, queer Supreme Court Justices, being enlightened in general and prosecuting the bad guys.

@coshbane1 Also, why did you ask me to explain my “argument” (I wasn’t arguing anything, I was simply referencing polling data), and then finish your comment by claiming that the discussion was over? Did you not want me to respond?

    PoliticsStudent August 30, 2010 at 2:22 pm

@coshbane1 My first suggestion: learn how to write in English. People don’t take you seriously when you post a comment filled with that jibber jabber.

My second suggestion: search “gay marriage by age” in Google. The first or second link will contain survey information that details explicit support for gay marriage by age and state. Just in case you didn’t know, “explicit” in this context means “clear”, or “specific”, as in, the survey results indicate supporters of gay marriage, not unions.

@PoliticsStudent Wat are u talking about? ummmm I understood the fact about the older people not supporting gay union under the word marriage, but the younger people supporting it, and yes u r wrong. I am 24 And I don’t support it. state n explain ur agurment. U notice I didn’t say gay-******** but said gay union, Because the word marriage is Between a man and a woman. End Of discussion.

@PoliticsStudent I’m glad you agree. Do you have any specfic sources? I’d like to show a couple of people those polls.

    InnerLabyrinth August 30, 2010 at 4:51 pm

Seth MacFarlene is so cute !!!!

    killingdroid August 30, 2010 at 5:12 pm

@PoliticsStudent i like where this is going, let the pricks die, have some patience xD

    PoliticsStudent August 30, 2010 at 5:30 pm

@justme19928 Absolutely. If you look at polls on this issue by age, you find that a large majority of older people oppose gay marriage, while people under 30 are much more supportive of it. In some states, a significant majority of young people support gay marriage.

With every passing year, there are more tolerant people in the world and less intolerant people.

Reza Aslan can be very disingenuous when he is defending Islam. He attributed everything to social and economic conditions, but as Sam Harris put it, how many more well-off engineers and scientists need to become fundamentalists before we open our eyes?

    Neumie7 August 30, 2010 at 6:35 pm

“can i just say: john edwards, hot” lmfao i love that muslim guy!

    Neumie7 August 30, 2010 at 6:50 pm

@zuzuzmith i think what hes going after is that most 50 year old women are not as…desirable and thus are less likely to find someone to cheat WITH

    zuzuzmith August 30, 2010 at 7:09 pm

God, Bill Maher is so retro and he just can’t get over it. He really thinks women in their 50′s don’t have a sex drive, or they can’t get laid, or what? What is his problem? He really wants to see every issue possible in terms of men v/s women.

    lauraleesmithagain August 30, 2010 at 7:16 pm

Seth just pushed away a quarter of the women who would’ve been willing to date him. If he wasn’t living amongst hollywood women he would’ve alienated about 90% of them. lol.

    Acefighter0098 August 30, 2010 at 7:36 pm

what asian guy? Reza Aslan I don’t think he’s asian.

    namlohdrareg August 30, 2010 at 7:55 pm

@Xytos – Mr. Aslan was just playing up ‘acting gay’, as he did throughout the entire show, even though he’s not. John Edwards is a handsome man, and you don’t have to be gay to realize that.

    gothamcity29 August 30, 2010 at 7:56 pm

    @epicpwnr1
    yes

    VexonCross August 30, 2010 at 8:32 pm

@americanu197 How is that different than the American situation? The debate is about whether or not to legalize it, which means changing the law. Same situation.

    Xytos August 30, 2010 at 8:47 pm

i dont get the ending joke. can someone explain why it’s so funny?

    KBoe4 August 30, 2010 at 8:57 pm

Asking your spouse to be faithful to the rest of your life is like telling them to just eat toast?! How do people not realize how distorted that view of marriage is!?

    americanu197 August 30, 2010 at 9:10 pm

I like the australian take on this…they said the they cannot allow gay marriage because by law marriage is the union between a man and a women

    justme19928 August 30, 2010 at 9:58 pm

That guy Aslan is right. Someday we’ll look back and see how ridiculous this fight over gay rights is. Just like today, we (at least most people) view the ban on interracial marriage from the 40s and before as ridiculous.

    justme19928 August 30, 2010 at 9:58 pm

    @epicpwnr1 Yes it is.

    epicpwnr1 August 30, 2010 at 10:08 pm

    is that seth mcfarlene!!!?!>!>!>!!?

    sonyaroxxx August 30, 2010 at 10:54 pm

@bigbossmonster ur right. those middle east countries are barbaric and they dont represent islam. they just think they do.

    sonyaroxxx August 30, 2010 at 10:57 pm

im straight and i dont get how if two chicks get married or two guys get married is gonna effect me getting married. like what the fuck? this is so embarassing that we have fuckers arguing about civil rights. this is why america is hated globally. because we dont focus on real issues.
