And stop getting mad about her calling the straight pride shirt wearers ignorant. I think she ment insensitive. It was supposed to be an awareness week about the gay suicidesat the time, and they basiclly kicked the LGBTQ students while they were down.
The whole Leviticus thing is stupid. If you continue to read on it tells you shellfish is an abomination, as well as clothes made of two different kinds of cloth (like cotton and wool). I heard a bunch of Conservative Christians bashing gays at Red Lobster once. One of them nearly choked on the shrimp he was eating because he was laughing so hard. Fucking hypocrites.
Freedom of religion. Bible is part of religion . Plus the quote is referring to god putting the gay’s soul to hell when they die. Not the mass murder of gay’s . I’m gay…
everyone should be happy with who they are, whether its white pride, black pride, gay pride etc. I only had a problem with the fact that the t-shirt prompted others to kill people

As an average white schlub I’ll tell you why making a point of “white pride” is problematic – cos 99.999999% of us whities had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the technological ascendance of the caucasian countries. We had the industrial revolution first largely because of the close proximity of coal and iron deposits, plus waterways made the UK and US hard to invade. Anyway, gay “pride” is just a pushback against “gay shame”. Like if youre starved for a week, you’ll eat more until back to normal.

The problem isn’t the words “straight pride.” It’s the Leviticus verse that expresses that homosexuals should be put to death. Wearing a t-shirt that says anyone should be put to death is NOT free speech protected by the Bill of Rights. I doubt the “gay pride” shirts worn for Ally Week said anything at all about straight people, much less threatened them. There’s a difference between being proud of who you are, and saying you are inherently better than someone else because of that identity.
Why is it that only minorities get to be proud of who they are? I have zero problem with this.

I can understand why the kids shouldn’t have put The quote on the back but no one should have a problem with a shirt saying “Straight pride”. If people have gay pride, they can have straight pride and bi-pride and white pride and black pride and chinese pride. Just because someone is proud of what they are, it doesn’t mean they shun you for what you are.
